Father Andrew Clements was born in 1951 in Cleveland, Ohio and was raised at SS Peter & Paul Orthodox Church in Lakewood, Ohio where he served in the Altar, sang in the Choir, and became a parish Reader.
He graduated from John Marshall High School in Cleveland's Westpark district in 1969 and entered Iona College in 1970, graduating in 1973 with a Bachelors Degree in Communication Arts.
During his youth, he was active as a camper and counselor at St Vladimir's Camp in Green, Ohio where he continues to remain involved to this day. Also, during his seminary years, Fr Andrew was engaged in many Youth Retreats during his Christmas Breaks.
Upon his graduation from St. Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary in May, 1977 with a Master of Divinity degree, he became the Choir Director and Youth Leader at St. John the Baptist in Warren, Ohio, a position he held for 6 years. In February 1982, Father Andrew married Debbie Campbell whom he met at St. John's. He was ordained to the Priesthood in August of 1983 at St John's.
Father (and his growing family of 1 child with another on the way) ended up in Byesville, Ohio to begin his first pastoral duties. After 3 years, he and his family made the move to St. Nicholas in Mentor, Ohio in October of 1986.
Over the next 3 years Father Andrew's family grew to include four children; John, Juliana, Michael, and Maria. He now has eight grandchildren, all of which attend here at St Nick's.
During his 39 years of priesthood, Father Andrew has been elevated to the rank of Archpriest and has served three terms on the Diocesan Council of the Diocese of the Midwest, and served on various committees.
He has been Dean of the Cleveland Deanery and member of the Bishop's Council for the last twelve years.
